How To Dye Your Eyebrows; The Good The Bad And The Ugly

So today I finally dyed my eyebrows at home.  I was so excited to do it, I had gotten it done before years ago at a salon and I loved it. It lasted for weeks. As you know (or should) I shaved my eyebrows off when I was little and the pigment never really returned. I always had to fill them in with pencil or powder, but after a few days it gets tiresome. Also when I go to the pool you don't feel like putting on makeup or worrying about it washing off. So after watching like two youtube videos I felt as if I was fully qualified to color my own eyebrows. I mean I can contour, I can certainly dye my own eyebrows.

I wanted this to be a youtube video, but my camera was having technical difficulties but I photographed everything. I got the Just For Men Mustache and Beard dye in Real Black because I wanted it to be dark but not too dark. I may go a little darker when it's time to replace it, but the dye will last for at least 3 months.

So this is what you'll need:

  • Everything included in the Just For Men Kit.
  • Q Tips
  • Mascara Wand
  • Petroleum jelly (optional)
  • Timer

How To:

  • Remove eyebrow makeup with makeup remover.
  • Apply a dime size amount of developer and dye side by side in plastic tin.

  • Mix well with the backside of the mascara wand.

It should look like this mixed.

  • If you use petroleum jelly apply this around your eyebrow.
  • Set Timer for 5 minutes and dip wand into dye and very lightly apply dye to eyebrow hair.

  • Remove any dye that has touched the skin with a q tip
  • Once timer is up apply makeup remover to a cotton swab and remove dye.
  • Once majority of the dye is removed the cotton swab wash your face thoroughly.

Optional steps:

I goofed up badly on my first attempt, some people would wait until the next day to try again. Not I! I washed my eyebrows twice with my clarisonic to remove the dye off my skin. Then I did another 5 minutes of the dye to get my end result. I wouldn't recommend washing it if you're going to redo the dye. Your eyebrows will be irritated to the max! It doesn't help that I also got my eyebrows waxed before I did it. Oh well who said beauty was pretty? Lol

Have you guys ever dyed your brows? Are you tempted to try it? I know I will be doing this again  a lot more carefully though. I absolutely love the result. Get the dye here at amazon
