When it comes to lashes there's no such things as too much. That is until clumping settles in. I'm a huge a fan of layering mascaras not so much of clumping though. Layering mascara are a great way to get the most out of your lashes and mascaras while creating a one of a kind look. It's a lot easier than it looks, the key to it all is not using the same type of Mascara.
When you're layering your mascara the base mascara should be a thinner formula, like a lengthening mascara. A good mascara for a base is benefit's roller lash mascara. This gives your lashes great length but doesn't put a lot of product on that lashes. After you let it sit for about 20 seconds, it's time to follow up with a voluminous mascara.
This gives your lashes drama, and adds a lot if product on your lashes. That's why you always end with a thicker formula because if you start with a thick formula and end with one you put way to much on the lashes and it clumps. Better than sex by too faced has been my go to for the pass few months. The brush is a little thicker and softer so use a light hand and tap off any excess.
When you're putting on the mascara use lighter strokes and apply like you're trying to separate the lashes. Flow more to the outer corners of the lashes and whatever you do don't wiggle up just flow up.
Now if you want an extra layer put more of the lengthening mascara so you're not putting on to much product.
