DIY: How To Tighten A Loose Hat

A few weeks ago I picked up this gorgeous wide brim fedora hat from forever 21. At the time I had longer bangs so it fit perfectly. But as you know I recently chopped my bangs off so now the hat is loose. Like I could spin it on my head if I wanted, curse my peanut head! Luckily after doing a little bit of research I found a quick and easy fix that anyone one can do. The best part is that you can do it to any hat as long as it has lining in the inside.

What you need:
  • Your hat
  • And foam tape (you can get it at Walmart for $3)
Flip the hat upside down and measure out your tape leaving a few extra centimeters. Then cut.

Now flip the sweat band up slightly so you can place the tape underneath.

Now begin placing the tape onto the sweat band. Don't remove all of the paper at once but remove it as your going along.

Keep placing tape until the entire band is covered.

Now try it on to make sure it fits. And you're all set! Mine was a bit snug but it wasn't uncomfortable, after a few wears the foam adjusts to your head.
