One of the biggest questions I get about brows is what should I use? Powder, gel, brush on or pencil? What is the best?
With so many options for perfect Brows it's really hard to know what you should use, it can get confusing. But it's really all about what you're looking for, and what you want your brows to look like. Although we all want them to look amazing it, you have to be realistic. Know what you can do, have time for, and what your brows can handle. So let's break it down in an easy way you can understand.
Brush on - brush on are like mascaras it comes in a tube and you brush it on with a spooly (wand). As you can imagine this is for people with already full brows looking for a little more color and grooming. Not if you're looking for filling in your brows. Gimme Brows by Benefit is great it also has little fibers in it for extra fullness.
Pencils- are wax based pencils that shape and define your brows. This is good if you have gaps in your brows. NOT if you're looking to fill in your entire brow. Why do I say that? The back and forth motion actually loosens the hair follicles and can cause your brows to look thinner. I can vouch for this from person experience. So use this if you have sparse areas or you have no eyebrows and I'm talking like bare, shaved off just skin. Anastasia Brow Wiz is great because it goes on light so you can build up the color for a natural looking brow and it also has a spooly on the other end so you groom your brows.
Powder- powders do it all really. It fills in the brows and defines them it also looks a lot more natural. This is for girls like me who have hair but don't have much color. It's also good if you have brows but want to get bolder brows. Again Anastasia brow powder is great for this! It comes in a duo with a lighter shade and a darker shade. The darker shade is where you don't have hair and the lighter is for where you have hair.
Gel/pomade : this is a thick gel like wax. This is for pros and avid makeup lovers. This is something that I recommend for people who have hair because if you do it and you don't have something for that gel to go on to, it'll look like you drew them on. It's also hard to get a good handle on. If you don't have good product control it's hard to make them look good so if you want to try it make sure you give yourself time to work it out. Anastasia's dip brow is the only pomade that I know of, it's good but like I said it's difficult to get a handle on. If you have patience and get a good handle on it, it's a God send.
Even more important than the product is the application! Doesn't matter how good the product is if it's being used incorrectly. Follow the natural shape of the brow only extending if necessary. What an informative post! I actually have to come back and read it again. Because I have bangs, I don't often do my brows but I probably should. So I have a few brow products but I don't really know what's better for doing what. This is great.
