How To Get Exactly What You Want A The Salon

Going to the salon is an enjoyable and sometimes stressful experience. Especially when you're going to a new salon, I've Heard so many horror stories about stylists cutting off to much, the color breaking off hair and more. Fortunately there are ways to ensure that you're getting the exact look you want and what your hair can handle.

Do research and ask around for a good stylist. The best way to find a good stylist is to see their work so go out and ask everyone you see. Another way to find a good stylist is to go on styleseat it's an app that shows you all the stylist in your area. You can see the stylist photos, read reviews, and find their pricing.

Know your limitations. If you have very short hair like a pixie, getting extensions will be a little more difficult than someone with longer hair because the hair won't cover the track. Once you find a stylist explain what your hair is like in detail so they know what they're getting in to.

Bring photos. Always always bring photos so the stylist has a clear idea of what look you're going for. A photo can clear up many questions. Make sure that it's clear and don't be afraid to bring in more than one. When I got my pixie I brought in several photos of many different angles so they knew what I wanted.

Listen to your stylist, and take their advice. Go to someone who cares about your hair. A good stylist will tell you if your hair can handle a dye job and when it can't. If you sit down in the chair and they don't look at your hair before mixing the magic you need to go. It's better to go without then to go bald.

Tell them your hairstory. If you get a relaxer, just colored your hair, or straighten everyday. Your stylist needs to know so they know what your hair can handle.

Pay attention to what they are doing! This is the most important step and so many people don't do it. Put down your phone and watch what your stylist is doing. It can mean the difference between taking off a few inches and coming out with a buzz cut.

Don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions. What products are they using? How do you maintain your style? What's the upkeep? You need to know this because you can't take them home with you.

Know when to leave. Go in for a consultation, always. Whether it's the same day or the day before, talk to them. If they seem uneasy about it or you don't walk away.

Remember quality over price.  If you're getting an difficult hairstyle or cut know you're going to pay a pretty penny for it. I know everyone is looking for a deal, but you can't pay a McDonald's price and expect the same quality work as Texas road house.  No one's doing quality work or good products on someone paying the bottom dollar. Splurge a little, invest in your self. The work will be better and the results will last longer.
