I hate how I buy a pair of amazing jeans or adorable top only to see that after a few wears it looks like I've had it for years. I treat my clothes nice, I hang them up, keep them pressed, but why do they end up that way? Turns out I'm washing them too much. (How is that even be a thing?) I guess it's like your skin if you constantly wash it eventually it'll get dry and brittle. That's what happened to my parka, once so soft and cozy, now feels like a crunchy sock on a teenage boys floor. And I hate how my black jeans faded! I needed those! Oh well at least I get to go shopping. (Speaking of shopping I just got this amazing lipstick from MAC I can't wait to show you.) But here's an easy guideline on how to keep your wardrobe looking cute, fresh and brand new(kinda).
Wash less: It sounds so gross to me but it keeps the color looking fresh and the fabric soft. Try to spot treat little stand that you get and if it smells stick a fabric softener in the item and stick it in the freezer.
But how often do you wash, when you wash?
Bra: After 3 or 4 wears
Underwear,Socks,Hosiery,Sportswear,Swimwear: EVERYTIME
Jeans: 5 to 6 wears
Shirts,Dresses, Leggings: One or Two wears
Pants,Skirts, and Shorts: Three to Four Wears
Jackets,Blazers and hoodies: 3 to 4 wears
Coats:Once every two months of wears (so like once every winter depending on how long your winter is)
All because you don't wash them doesn't mean that they're going to look nice. If you're going to do this and you don't want to be funky with it here's some tips.
- Hang up your clothes to prevent wrinkles.
- Put dryer sheets into the pocket of your jeans or shirts to keep it smelling fresh.
- Don't wear your jeans back to back. Wait a day or two so they can snugg back up.
- Spot treat. Get a tide pen so if anything happens you can fix it .
- Obviously if you're sweating, spill something, or get some bodily fluid on your clothes wash them.
- If you have to ask if it's ok to wear, it's probably not.
Good luck
