Foundation is the most important product you can have in your make up arsenal. Not only does it make your skin look flawless, it sets the tone for the rest of your face. Personally I can't live with out my foundation, its my perfecter the one thing I really cannot run out of except for black eyeliner of course. I have seen the high and lows of foundation from the perfect full coverage to the almost invisible shield. And I'm here to share my knowledge with you.
Working in the beauty biz you come along the same set of questions, moat of them being "what foundation should I get and what type of coverage do I need. Here's some of my favorites for each category.
Light/Sheer coverage: sheer coverage is basically no coverage. This is the type of coverage when you have good skin but just have a minor discoloration. This is perfect for those girls who don't really want to do too much and want to keep their makeup as natural as possible. Not saying that a heavier coverage will look cakey or like you have a ton of makeup on but since its a lighter coverage you see less make up. lighter coverage foundations tend to have more of a dewy natural finish which id another reason people consider them more natural. The best light coverage would be the NARS Tinted Moisturizer and the Buxom weightless foundation
Medium Coverage: This is my favorite because it gives you plenty of coverage with out it being to much. It's also the most customizable, you could build it up or apply it lightly. This is good for girls who want good coverage but don't want to look like that have a ton of make up on. The finishes for these foundations usually vary from dewy to matte finish. Some of my favorite foundations for medium coverage are the Smashbox Liquid Halo along with NARS Radiant Cream.
Full coverage: This coverage is for the girls who love make up and don't care who knows it. this you basically see no skin, whatsoever. It will cover up whatever ills ya and more. I don't usually wear full coverage, it settles in to the skin pretty bad and like I said you can't see you. Full coverage is more for the girls who can't keep anything on their face or for girls that experience extreme oiliness since the finishes are mostly matte Some really good full coverage foundations are the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation, and the Makeup Forever Mat Velvet foundation.
